Our philosophy on training is to keep it fun for the dog. I like to see the dogs attitude to be where it cannot wait for the next training session. We like to throw a lot of birds to the dogs also to keep a good attitude. Give us a call and we will talk about your dog. We will create a training schedule to fit your dog. We welcome problem dogs.
Training will start with a puppy that is 4 to 6 months of age. In this early stage we will teach your dog to be obedient. Obedience commands are taught with verbal and whistle commands. We also will develop the dog's natural ability and desire to retrieve. We believe its very important to socialize your dog to different people, dogs, and the different hunting situations it will experience in the field. We introduce to them a lot of birds and gun fire. This part of the training should take 2 to 3 months, but each dog is different.
In this stage of training we will force fetch your dog. This training teaches your dog to hold bumpers and birds. It also teaches your dog to fetch on command. We also collar condition your dog. We will conduct handling drills to teach your dog hand signals in which you will be able to perform some basic handling when you are hunting. We also are working on longer retrieves, marking skills, and working on retrieving double marks on land and water. After the intermediate stage is completed you are ready to take your dog hunting. A dog at this stage has learned the skills it needs to be a top notched hunting dog. This part of the training should take 2 to 3 months, but each dog is different.
In this stage of the dogs training we prepare your dog for hunting and competing in hunt tests. This includes training out of ground blinds, boats and fields. We also will teach your dog to mark at longer distances with double and triple marks. We also teach the dog to make a blind retrieve. There is nothing better then knowing if you have a bird go down that your dog did not see that your don't have to get out of the boat or blind to make the retrieve. If you are interested in having your dog compete in hunt tests, we will prepare your dog to have what it takes to compete and earn a title. If you don't have the time and still want your dog to have a title, we would be more then happy to handle your dog in a hunt test to earn its title. After your dog has completed its training. We will spend several days with you to teach you how to handle your dog. We will go though everything from basic obedience commands to land and water marks. We will also show you a training schedule you can use to maintain your dog's level of skill.
$475.00 per month. This includes food ,boarding and the dog's training.
Each dog that comes for training or boarding must have a vaccination slip showing that all required health shots were given.
